Dear Community,
Sunday 10am Community Practice & Discussion
From Jane: The conversations in our last few Sangha meetings have interestingly brought me to a place of contemplating the various facets mindfulness. Joseph Goldstein in his book entitled Mindfulness describes it “as the one factor of mind that is useful in every situation.” He goes on to say: “It is important not to underestimate the power of mindfulness, although the word mindfulness in English is a bit prosaic, when we look past the word to the quality of mind itself, we see its enormous power. Mindfulness is the root of all that is wholesome.”
So, although the word mindfulness is sometimes seen as prosaic, or overused or misused in today’s western culture, I have come to appreciate how core it is to our Buddhist practice and integral to the Dharma and our spiritual paths. This Sunday, I look forward to practicing together and exploring the myriad ways that mindfulness is experienced, both as a part of our everyday lives and as a support of our spiritual paths. I hope that you will join us!
Please join us this Sunday as we practice the path together. Registration and Zoom information available here.
